PS (PhosphatidylSerine) 100mg (from 500mg mixed phospholipids)

  • Supports Brain Function & Mental Clarity
  • Enhances Memory & Learning
  • Derived from Soy

Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a naturally occurring phospholipid in the brain that demonstrates a number of metabolic and pharmacologic effects on the body. MRM’s Phosphatidylserine (PS) is derived from soy. PS affects a variety of nerve cell functions including the conduction of nerve impulses, the gathering and discharge of neurotransmitters (acetylcholine, serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine) and the maintenance of cellular function - “homeostasis”. Researchers attest that these neurochemical systems are affected in age-related cognitive declines. A 6-month study in groups of patients displaying memory and cognitive limitations indicated that PS treatment had a significant effect on different measures of brain function and mental clarity.* Research conducted by Crook (1991) supplemented 100 mg of PS three times a day in patients and showed significant improvement in cognitive function among subjects that were the most memory impaired.* A second study performed by Crook indicated that PS treated groups showed improvements in their ability to recall familiar names, location of misplaced items, details from the past day/week and maintained their concentration. Other studies have indicated that PS may have a potential benefit in weight training and endurance athletes. Fahey and Pearl indicated that PS supplementation 800 mg decreased cortisol after exercise. This is possibly due to decreasing adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) while subduing the negative effects of intense weight training (perception of well-being and muscle soreness). PS has shown superb bio availability when taken orally and studies have shown no side effects with use up to 800 mg (Fahey and Pearl, 1998). An earlier study with men, who underwent three experiments with a bicycle ergometer, indicated that pretreatment with PS significantly blunted the ACTH and cortisol responses to physical stress.

Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a phospholipid that plays a key role in cell structure and function, particularly in the brain. PS 100 mg is a popular supplement known for its potential cognitive benefits. Let's compare it with similar products:

    1. PS 100 mg vs. PS 50 mg

PS 100 mg contains a higher concentration of phosphatidylserine compared to PS 50 mg, which may result in more pronounced cognitive benefits.

    2. PS 100 mg vs. Omega-3 Fish Oil

While both PS 100 mg and Omega-3 Fish Oil support brain health, PS 100 mg specifically targets cognitive function through its role in cell membrane structure.

    3. PS 100 mg vs. Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo Biloba is another popular supplement for cognitive function, but it works through different mechanisms compared to PS 100 mg. Combining the two may provide synergistic benefits.

    4. PS 100 mg vs. Acetyl-L-Carnitine

Acetyl-L-Carnitine is known for its role in energy production in the body, while PS 100 mg focuses on brain health. They can complement each other in supporting overall cognitive function.
