Arbordoun’s Abundantly Herbal Calendula Cream is formulated by hand to soothe, moisturize and rejuvenate skin of all ages. It is created from an emulsion of olive oil and beeswax, with herbal extracts of Calendula, Oregon grape and comfrey; aloe and purified water. These herbs have been used historically to enhance skin vitality, promote healing and cellular renewal, and for their antibacterial properties. They are organically grown on our small Lopez Island farm and blended with the olive oil, aloe, beeswax and lavender oil. The water-based ingredients are readily absorbed by the skin so the cream works deeply.

Our skin is our largest organ; it breathes and absorbs nutrients. The cream is non-toxic and, in fact, all the ingredients in our products are natural and edible (although we do not promote eating it!) We do no animal testing.

Benefits of Calendula Cream

Calendula cream is a popular herbal remedy known for its anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties. It is commonly used to help with various skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis.

Best Ways to Use Calendula Cream

  1. Apply a thin layer to affected areas: Gently massage a small amount of calendula cream onto the affected skin areas. This can help soothe irritation and promote healing.
  2. Use as a moisturizer: Calendula cream can also be used as a daily moisturizer for dry or sensitive skin. Apply a small amount to clean skin and massage in gently.
  3. Spot treatment for minor cuts and burns: Calendula cream can be applied to minor cuts, scrapes, and burns to help promote healing and reduce inflammation.
  4. Use as a lip balm: The soothing properties of calendula cream make it a great option for chapped lips. Apply a small amount to your lips as needed.
  5. Incorporate into your skincare routine: You can also mix a small amount of calendula cream with your favorite moisturizer or serum to enhance its soothing properties.

It's important to note that while calendula cream is generally safe for topical use, it's always a good idea to do a patch test on a small area of skin before using it more widely. If you experience any irritation or allergic reaction, discontinue use immediately.

For more information on the proper use of calendula cream, you can refer to the manufacturer's instructions or consult with a healthcare professional.

  4. Moisturizing: The emollient properties of calendula cream help moisturize the skin, making it useful for dry and chapped skin.

Comparison of Calendula Cream with Similar Products

Calendula cream is a popular herbal remedy known for its anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties. Let's compare it with similar products:

Calendula Cream vs. Aloe Vera Gel

Both Calendula cream and Aloe Vera gel are natural remedies used for skin care. Calendula cream is specifically known for its anti-inflammatory properties and is often used to soothe irritated skin, while Aloe Vera gel is known for its cooling and moisturizing effects. Calendula cream may be more beneficial for conditions like eczema and dermatitis, while Aloe Vera gel is great for sunburns and general skin hydration.

Calendula Cream vs. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is another natural remedy known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. While Calendula cream is more focused on soothing and calming the skin, tea tree oil is often used for acne treatment and to address skin infections. Tea tree oil may be more drying compared to Calendula cream, so it's important to consider your skin type and condition when choosing between the two.

Calendula Cream vs. Hydrocortisone Cream

Hydrocortisone cream is a topical corticosteroid that is commonly used to reduce inflammation and itching associated with skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. While hydrocortisone cream may provide quick relief for inflammation, it can have side effects with prolonged use. Calendula cream, on the other hand, is a natural alternative that may be gentler on the skin and suitable for long-term use.

It's important to consult with a healthcare professional or dermatologist to determine the best product for your specific skin concerns and needs.
