BSE is a storehouse for immune enhancing *fucoidan (Fucoxanthin). The most active ingredient in Fucoidan is fucose, which is a sulfated polysaccharide (complex sugar molecule) that is very important for its function in communication between cells via glycoproteins and glycolipids.
*Fucoxanthin is a fat soluble carotenoid similar to lutein or lycopene found in several edible varieties of seaweed, including kelp or kombu (Laminaria species).
