There are two main forms of vitamin K: K1, found in green leafy vegetables, and K2, manufactured by gut microflora. Several clinical studies have found that K2 has significantly higher bioavailability and bioactivity than K1. Exciting new research shows that by activating matrix GLA-protein, vitamin K2 - but not K1 - inhibits, and may even reverse, arterial calcification.
