| Definition: | Creatine is considered a naturally occurring nutrient found
in skeletal muscles that is comprised of arginine, glycine and methionine
(three amino acids). Creatine assists in providing muscle fibers with the
energy needed to facilitate quick and forceful movements. While most
of the body's creatine is obtained from dietary sources, using it in
supplement form to enhance muscle building and athletic performance is
currently in use. Several clinical studies suggest that creatine
supplementation allows for more energy storage, increased stamina,
strength and synthesis of protein and lean muscle mass.
