| Definition: | CLA is a form of linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid that
naturally occurs in some vegetable oils and in beef, veal and dairy
products. It has impressive antitumor and antioxidant properties. It
seems to have the ability to prevent the build-up of cholesterol
deposits in the arteries and to promote the burning of fat stores.
|
| Applications: | Obesity, atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, cancer
deterrent and natural antioxidant.
|
| Recommendations: | Make sure you are getting pure CLA. Adding
vegetable oils to a product technically means it has CLA content but
this is not the form of CLA you want. Take in recommended doses only.
If you have trouble with fat digestion, taking a lipase supplement may
enhance assimilation. |
